AID Hainaut Center is an “Entreprise de Formation par le Travail” (Work Based Learning Enteprise) recognised and supported by the Wallonia Region, whose aim is the socioprofessional reintegration of a weakened public. This association results from the merger between two former ASBLs, which work on La Louvière and on Mons-Borinage. These two previous Work Based Learning joined forces in January 2008 to form the AID Hainaut Center, which is a member of the Federation AID .
It offers 3 training courses :
- community kitchen and catering service,
- carpenter’s workshop.
Sixty adult learners (trainees) are welcomed each year. Those come to develop practices related to the proposed professions. The pedagogy provided within an EFT is original: it is organized around the action of the learners by immersing them in an active professional environment.
This professional environment is created, for the “Horeca” branch, by the restaurant “Le Goût d’Apprendre” (A taste for Learning) and by a “Corporate Mess” for workers in La Louvière. Both individual and collective supports help learners in their professional integration process (the duration varies between 9 and 18 months).
