On 8th July 2017, the members of Barka’s Network meet on an annual general assembly. During that meeting Barka Foundation representative Maria Sadowska presented to the partners the results of IO2 – assessment system for the project “Eco-Restaurateur”. During the meeting, there were present: external companies in training and gastronomy, social enterprises, social integration centers from around Poland (vocational training centers), associations working in the field of social exclusion, international Barka’s branches form Ireland, the Netherlands, UK, Island.

The Artusian Festival is a very famous festival in Italy dedicated to the most famous gastronome in Italy living between the XIXth and the XXth Century, Pellegrino Artusi, author of the manual "Science in the kitchen and the art of eating well". This Festival is based on criteria of sustainability, giving strict constraints to all organizations that want to take part in the Festival and offer their products, such as: requirements about the origin (at least 50% of local products, seasonal, priority for traditional recipes, organic farming and breeding methods, autochthonous breeds), nutritional quality of food (OGM free, only bio-eggs or outdoor-breeding eggs allowed, meats from intensive breeding not allowed, etc.), compulsory…

Summary of work on creating an eco-skills training program for kitchen worker

On 26th of June a visit for external partners was organized by Barka to present the results of work on the IO3 – educational tool/syllabus of « eco skills ». The participants of this visits were: representatives of Regional Social Policy Center, representatives of Marshal's Office of the Wielkopolska Region and training company. During the meeting, the results of IO2 were presented – the tool for conducting the training in eco skills for kitchen help. There was a vivid discussion if local markets need such skills and will this training really provide the participants with skills that will help them to find job on the labor market.

Multiplier event in Verona, February 10th, 2017

On February 10th, 2016, Scuola Centrale Formazione and its associated member CSF Stimmatini, with the participation of all partners, carried out a multiplier event of the Eco-Restaurateur project, matched with a study visit to the Vocational Training Center of CSF Stimmatini and with a study visit to a canteen producing local typical high quality wine and serving food prepared according to traditional recipes. The event involved trainees, trainers and managers, institutions, no profit organisations and enterprise representatives in a conference presenting the third project output and the results of the first testing phase. 44 People attended the multiplier event, including 15 persons from the project partner organisations and 29 persons external to the partnership (all from Italy). These latters were mainly managers and trainers from VET organisations from different regions…

Meeting in Kyustendil (Bulgaria)

Part of the project are the regular meetings of the partners organised each time in the country of a different partner. In October 2016, a meeting was held in Kyustendil, Bulgaria. Besides the main discussion on the intellectual products and working tasks of the project, the programme included a visit to the annual Festival of Rich Harvest in Kyustendil. The event included presentations of products of artisans and farmers from the last harvest of the region as well as new agricultural varieties. There were also competitions for the most beautifully arranged stand and biggest apple. The program of the festival also included an exhibition and demonstrations of healthy foods and homemade winter supplies.
